Push rod after lifter release
OK, success! Push rod jumped out like a bottle rocket!
Now comes the consternation of putting it back in and accomplishing the "re-lock" which I did. However I didn't hear any sort of "click" as described in the video. So, 1) Approximately how far will the push rod travel back down to lock the lifter? 2) Can it go too far in? 3) Does this require a gentle tap or more aggressive tap, like the lifter release taps? 4) Is there any way to confirm the lifter is locked in place, besides turning the engine over 5-6 times (long story but had issues with the reliability of that method)?
Thanks for your help, hoping others can benefit from the clarification.
