Looking to get some opinions on my 5.3 and its collapsed lifter/maybe a bent push rod.

What does this look like to you guys. 2011 Tahoe. Rocker on number 7 seems to move a little bit not sure if it’s due to a bent pushrod or if it’s a collapsed lifter. Couldn’t get the rocker the go backwards like Charles does in his videos but I might have not been in the right spot on the cam or something like that. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I would investigate for a broken bell spring or possibly a sticky valve. Also be sure to check the trunnion bearing on the rocker and just make sure there's nothing that could have caused that thing to bend. It's fairly uncommon to bend to pushrad on the Gen 4 stuff. You might be able to just put a push rod in it though and be good to go. If you want to upgrade it certainly won't make it any worse. Just be sure you check stuff first to make sure there's not an outside situation that caused that bend. On the Gen 4's the pushrods I sell are called performance pushrods. The Gen 5 stuff is labeled pushrod upgrade. In the Gen 5 stuff though it's actually fairly common to bend a pushrod because of interference. So for anybody else reading this with a Gen 5 the pushrod upgrade actually solves the problem in many situations.

Considering the frame rate of the video versus the rocker speed it's hard to tell. But it looks to me like cylinder 7 has an intake rocker that's not moving as much. Shut it off and check how loos the rocker is. If not loose remove the rocker on that one and cylinder 5 intake. Compare the lift of the 2 cranking by hand. If cylinder 7 has less lift It likely has a damaged roller and wiped camshaft. If that's the case I do offer full delete kits here on my website as well.
