Oil pressure after VLOM mod

I have noticed my oil pressure when cold is much higher after the completing the VLOM mod and even a little higher at hot idle. Is this due to the oil galley block off plug, my VLOM solenoids leaking prior, or maybe a mix of both? Not that I'm complaining, but just want to make sure the increase I'm seeing in pressure is accurate.

Wow! I don't here about that happening often on gen 4 stuff. Nice find!

On a side note, is that an old school metal cooler that thing is on? Looks like a neat little chest of some sort.

Confirmed that 2 of the solenoids were leaking. I connected a piece of hose to the solenoids and secured with a hose clamp, then applied compressed air and could hear air hissing out of these 2 solenoids.

That's interesting, I wouldn't expect near that big of a change. I wonder if it wasn't blowing out the side of a solenoid or something?

Truck is 2011 so not direct injection. Hot idle, there is not much of a pressure increase on the gauge, maybe 3-5 psi, but when driving, and especially when the engine isn't fully hot the pressure is hitting 60+psi when previously it only would climb to about 45-50psi when accelerating when cold. Hot hard acceleration prior to the mod, it would only hit about 45psi then drop out like the pressure regulator would release. Previous hot idle was about 25psi, hot idle now is about 30psi.

If you notice an increase in pressure from doing the VLOM mod, that tells me your VLOM was indeed leaking. There is a much better chance of this being the case in the newer direct injection vehicles. This is because they are prone to having VLOM leaks. In fact, in the newer direct injection engines lifters typically fail because of the VLOM. The older ones typically fail because of lack of oil pressure during activation from some other outside issue. So if you have something that is pre-direct injection oftentimes one will find lack of oil pressure because of something bleeding off that pressure. For example, old worn out lifters that are squirting too much oil at the valve cover.
