Rocker not moving after lifter replacement

helping a buddy with his g8 gt, 6.0. The car had dod deleted out. He had a misfire so he changed coils, plugs, and wires that’s when he brought it to me and asked me to help.

I double checked everything and sure enough once I pulled the valve cover off the first rocker on cylinder 1 wasn’t moving. When it first starts it moves for just a second then stops.

Rocker wasn’t loose so I assumed the lifter had failed. I removed the head and we put in new dod lifters and I got it back together tonight. Same issue we had as before.

So I got to doing more research and see this vlom mod. Does this sound like what we need to do to get this going? The cam lobe looked good but the bottom of the old lifter was all chewed up. Hopefully the couple of minutes of run time after I got it back together didn’t damage the new lifter

Any help would be appreciated. If the vlom mod sound like it would work, what’s the chances od being able to use or make something that’s easily accessible locally

You have a spun lifter from a bad plastic guide. If the roller on the lifter was damaged you also have a bad camshaft. If the roller is damaged the camshaft is damaged no exceptions. Now is the time to do a full AFM delete kit, where you replace the camshaft and all. Don't forget to get your tune done to shut the AFM off, I remember LT1swap.com for this.
